Self-Care: Get Your Hair Done (#28selfcarehacks)

I remember when I was young my grandmothers, mother and my mother’s friends all going to get their “hair done”. They didn’t necessarily get a haircut but treated themselves to a blowout, as we say now, or getting it styled and set for the week. This usually involved curlers or and curling irons and a lot of hairspray! My mom didn’t do much for herself, but she did do this and now I know why.

Yesterday I treated myself to haircut. I know, it doesn’t sound like it should be a monumental occasion, but for me it was. My hair has been the longest in my life the most recent months and not because I was growing it out, but because I didn’t have the time to go get it done and didn’t want to spend the money on it. So, this was my big treat to myself on my birthday and I realized was a well-needed self-care hack. And I bought myself a new lip gloss (which I also never do)!
