Taking care of yourself is one of the smartest things you can do. Not doing so can lead to poor health, low productivity, and burnout. If you’re like most people, you feel too busy to even remember to put yourself first or you feel that you just can’t fit anything else into your schedule. However, self-care doesn’t have to take a lot of time and can be anything that is good for you physically, mentally, emotionally or spiritually. You owe it to yourself to do at least one kind thing for yourself each day. This will ultimately reduce stress and will help you sleep and feel better. Stressing out over trying to figure out how to incorporate self-care into your life defeats the purpose…and that is where I come in! For the rest of this month I will give you a self-care idea each day!
Self-Care Hack #2 - Create Sacred Space
Create a space or nook in your home that is special and sacred. A place that you can sit quietly and enjoy. It doesn’t have to be big or fancy, just peaceful, clutter-free and calm. Add a few special objects or photos, or even create an alter to honor people or things that you love. Use all of your senses, think of things that you’ll love to touch, hear, smell, taste. If you include crystals in your sacred space, make sure they are ones that resonate with your spirit or help to attract what you want in life.
This sacred space is a perfect place to ask for guidance, connect with spirit, focus on deep breathing, practice yoga, read, journal and create a positive vision for your life. Try to enjoy this space as much as you can. Let yourself get away from the busyness of everyday and relax.
