One of my greatest life lessons was to stop caring about what other people think of me. Many of past decisions as a young adult were not made from a place of what I really wanted but were based on how I thought others would perceive them and me. When I turned forty, I decided to “CARE-LESS” about this started making decisions that were true to my heart — like deciding to have children on my own! When making this huge life decision, I was worried of what others would think of my choice, but I am so glad that I didn’t let that influence my decision. My children are my greatest joy and proudest accomplishment.
One of my favorite quotes by Dr. Daniel Amen, author of Change Your Brain, Change Your Life, is “At 18 you worry about what everyone thinks of you. At 40 you don’t care. At 60 you realize no one was thinking about you anyway!”
Self-Care Hack #3
Care-less about what others think of you and your choices. It just causes additional stress and unnecessary worry. Live from your heart, you’ll be surprised how full and happy your life can be when you make choices that are authentic and aligned with your true desires.
